Autonomic Pharmacology

A hypothesis based exploration of autonomic pharmacology through the pharmacology of eye disorders. By James Ziogas and Michael J. Lew, Department of Pharmacology, University of Melbourne, Australia. (email jamesz@unimelb.edu.au and michaell@unimelb.edu.au)
This is an excellent program which allows students to diagnose autonomic disorders of the eye by making observations of the eye itself, its response to light and to various drugs. It could be use for self-directed study, in tutorial, in large classes or in a variety of other ways.

Phrenic Nerve Diagram

Simulated phrenic nerve diaphragm preparation by Ian Hughes, University of Leeds, Leeds LS2 9JT, UK. (email i.e.hughes@leeds.ac.uk). This program simulates the phrenic nerve diaphragm preparation and allows students to explore the effects of addition of various drugs. The choice, concentration and sequence of drug administration is entirely in the hands of the user. The program can be used to illustrate drug action in a lecture, to precede or replace a practical class, in tutorial or under the guidance of a tutor by following a tutor-supplied schedule. The Tutors Guide will be available in various languages as indicated below though the program itself (involving the names of drugs only) remains in English:
